Dear Diva: My Bookmarks are a Mess.

Dear Diva, I use a Macbook at home, a Windows computer at work, and I also have an iPhone and an iPad. I want to be able to save my bookmarks on whatever device I am working on, and have them sync to all my other computers and devices. Is this possible?

Jessica Vancouver, WA

Hi Jessica!  I so feel your pain.  I was in a similar situation myself.   After putting off the research, I finally decided I had better make the time to solve this issue.  I am so glad I did.

First, I use many different browsers, for many different reasons.  I steer clear of Internet Explorer as much as possible.  It just is not as secure as the other browsers, and in my opinion, runs slower.  I used to be a die hard Firefox fan, and I still love the browser and use it often.  I also am a huge fan of Google Chrome, and on my Macbook and IOS devices, I use Safari.

After researching browser plugins and apps to control my bookmarks, I simply decided to make Google Chrome my go-to browser where all my bookmarks are stored.  If you have a Google account, you can open Chrome, log into your Google account, and all of your bookmarks will sync from Chrome to your Google account.  You can then sign into Google from another computer, using Chrome, and Chrome will make all your bookmarks available on that computer.

Do not sign into your Google account on a public or untrusted computer.  A copy of your data is stored on that computer and can be accessed by other people using that computer.

Since Chrome also has apps for the iPhone and iPad, it makes sense to use this across all devices and always have my bookmarks waiting for me.  I am sure this will work great for you as well!
